VeeMic Tube Microphone

Well,I've had this idea ,kicking around ,for quite awhile;to build a tube mic, pretty much from scratch. Here is an "artist"rendition of ,something,I could acculally build.

We start out with a square metal tube, used in construction. This tube is 3inches by 1/12 inches.

Here it is ,after a couple trips through the band saw.It still needs some filing ,to smooth it out & square it up.

Next ,a stainless steel mesh,is cut to size & bent to fit inside the body, then riveted, into place.

I wanted to try something a little differnent on the internals ,as well. I built the whole circuit on a piece of perf board.Even glued the mic capsule,to the board, with silicone glue ,to provide isolation.I used a sweet paper & oil cap,on the capsule,& a NOS silver paper cap,on the output.

I also decided to go with a hard wired five pin cord,to save room. My next move ,is to fabracate a bottom plate that will hold the circuit board in place. Also paint the mic body,& come up with a yoke type of bracket,to pivot the mic.
...More to come...
