DauLectro Construction
Here is an inside look at the construction of the DauLectro Drum Pad. What you are looking at is the two loaded PCBoards that are the seperate drum voices, sitting on the wiring diagram , download fromNon Pareil Synths . You can also see the back of the pots on the control panel, patiently waiting to be wired up.
In this view, you can see the two PCboards wired up to the panel controls. The little perf board holds a unity gain mixer that sums the two audio signals into one ,and also provides a balanced output.

The bottom portion is made from half inch plywood. The aluminum plate provides protection to the control panel from drum stick strikes. Here, the top panel awaits the addition of those blue Radio Shack knobs.

Foam padding is affixed to the front portion to help provide isolation of the bottom plate from the playing surface. Another plywood panel with piezeos as trigger transducers is then added to the top.

A resilient padding used for drumer's practice pads, is then glued to the top panel. I used aluminum 'L' stock to finish the bottom. Oak side panels where added to the sides and controls knobs to the control section to complete the DauLectro.
